If you have been selling Resellable ebooks on eBay for some time, then it is likely that you adopt a method similar to many ebook sellers. Link Building Strategies And Tips

Well, an effective link building strategy is not building some 50-100 back links with sites with 'X' PR. It is more of getting links from the informative websites that is visited often by the people who could be your future customers. In broad sense the websites related to your focus industry.

Link popularity refers to the number of links pointing to and from related sites and is an extremely important method of improving your site's relevancy in search engines.

There are three types of links that will increase the link popularity of your site; internal, incoming and, to a lesser extent, outgoing links.

Internal links
Internal links are amount of links to and from pages in a site. Cross-linking your important related pages is recommended for a better search engine visibility. Site maps or sitemap are visual models of your site's content that enables users to find exact content or page on your website. It is important to name your internal and outgoing links carefully. Since keywords play a major part in determining the relevancy of a Web page, it is essential that they are also included in link text.

Link quality

The quality of the links is just as important, if not more, than the number of links to your site.The types of sites you should concentrate on getting links from include major search engines (Google), popular search portals (MSN), web directories (Yahoo.com and Open Directory Project - dmoz), high trafficked sites (eBay.com and Amazon), news sites (CNN), and sites related to your site's theme.

A Comparison of Different Earning Strategies on eBay

Generally there is only one earning strategy employed by eBay sellers. Buy low and sell for a profit. Sellers may be cruising yard sales on a weekend, op shops, or bargain bins in department stores, or they may have access to suppliers of wholesale goods (including dropshippers). But the strategy is still the same. This is the easiest and most direct method to make money on eBay as it involves listing an item for sale and then within days or weeks seeing a return on the investment.

Sellers may be able to repeat the sales that they have achieved, as in the case of goods obtained in bulk from a wholesale supplier or dropshipper, or they may have different items to sell in each listing. There are many people making excellent money on eBay from this strategy by all accounts and so it obviously works. I do it myself.

There is another strategy, hardly employed on eBay by sellers, which can also earn money for the account holder. That is using eBay as a vehicle for generating traffic to a seller's other items, located off eBay, or for the seller to create affiliate sales of other peoples' products. I will endeavour to explain the workings of these two strategies in more detail below.

Buy Low - Sell High

There's definitely nothing new about this. It has been the backbone of trading since time began and essentially eBay is just an extension of any shopping mall or market place where trading goes on - the only difference is that a lot of eBay sales are conducted by auction, which is somewhat unconventional in a traditional commercial sense.

There are a number of ways that eBay sellers utilise this method of selling and trading on eBay. As mentioned, the auction format is perhaps the most used, or at least the most commonly noticed method of trading on eBay. This may be used predominantly for items that are personal possessions being sold off on eBay, such as old DVDs and clothes, where the seller would be happy to accept any value for the goods seeing they have already used up their value by using them themselves.

It is also used where an item is rare and this is where eBay has built its global reputation as being the place of choice for selling such items so that sellers can attract a global audience to fight over the product.


Sellers often also utilise a fixed price format, or include a buy-it-now price on their listing to encourage quick sales or to set a reserve price on an item in categories in which this option is not available using the auction format. Fixed price format sales are also used for eBay store owners where the listings are generally listed for a month at a time rather than for a week or 10 days or less.

There are advantages and disadvantages to owning a store for different sellers and different items, but as regards the benefits of a store for listings I'm not going to go into that here.

The costs of listing and selling items on eBay, apart from the purchase costs of the items that are being offered for sale are:

* the listing fees payable to eBay calculated as a small percentage of the listing price upfront and the sales price in arrears

* the cost of promoting your listing through use of pictures, highlighting and a premium for promoting your listing on search results or on eBay's featured listings pages

* a percentage of the total sale amount (including postage) for buyers who use PayPal

* postage costs (although these costs are usually totally offset by the buyer)

* eBay store subscriptions and other eBay subscriptions such as Picture Manager and Selling Manager Pro

Another cost that too many eBay sellers don't take into account when they start selling stuff, particularly low value (and hence low margin) items such as books and DVDs, is the value of their time. I don't know about you, but my time is worth money during the day at least. I also put a value on the time that I have after working to spend with my family, or having fun, resting, exercising and eating amongst other things.

When valuing my time monetarily I put a higher value on the time that I spend out of work, just as I would expect to be paid extra for overtime. This time is an important part of any eBay seller's strategy because it takes time to put up listing, pack and post products, respond to email queries and perform other administrative tasks. And this time is usually time spent after work, i.e. the most valuable time.

All up I allocate at least 30 minutes to a unique listing and 15 minutes to an item I can repeatedly re-list. That means that if I value my time at $20/hour then I wouldn't list any unique item that doesn't make me $10 profit or a $5 profit on items I list repeatedly.

If you can make some money selling on eBay with this strategy then there is no limit to what you can do with your business as all you have to do is multiply the number of items that you sell to increase your profits. There are even eBay sellers that employ people to do their postage and packing or other administrative tasks where they are selling more than they can handle on their own.

eBay as a Traffic Generator for Other Products

No doubt, affiliate marketing is a huge money maker on the internet. There are probably millions of products that can be sold as an affiliate and usually all you need is a website or some content, whether in the form of a regular newsletter or blog or articles, to get into the game. eBay is another great place to ply affiliate products, or even your own products, outside of the usual eBay sales channels of auctions and fixed price listings.

If you want to sell anything on the internet then you need some sort of product and some webspace on which to advertise and sell it. Duh. Well eBay is a free platform that you can use to do that - and I'm not just talking about your listings. Every eBay account comes with an opportunity to create an About Me page on which you can tell the world who you are and what you are about.

You can include text, graphics, video and even HTML on that page and unlike the very strict policies that eBay maintains and enforces in regards to the content and links that you include on your listings eBay is much more lenient on the stuff that you have on your about me. About the only restriction is that you don't link to other auction sites or sites with a catalogue of products for sale (ie eBay's competition).

You can link to your home page, your blog, your granny's poker club - anything - including sites that sell certain products that you can refer people to and earn affiliate commissions. This is best done with information products in my opinion, or by inviting visitors to your about me to leave you their details through a web form so that you can send them newsletters (though which you can sell anything you want). This is a very poorly tapped opportunity on eBay.

I use my about me page to invite visitors to my online business website where I have a form to capture their name and email so that I can send them info about building a home business. I've worked out that for ever 100 people that view my listings about 15 go to my about me page and approximately 1 goes on to check out my business homepage. Small numbers at this level, sure, but seeing as I average about 1000 listing views per day, that's 10 people visiting my online business and they convert to leads on my website at about the rate of 2%. So I get one lead from eBay each week.

It's still a trickle, I'll give you that, but it's a FREE trickle that I wouldn't otherwise get and each year I make about $3000 this way. I'll take $3000 for free, wouldn't you?

If you don't have an online business then you can just promote someone else's. Just go somewhere like Clickbank and sign up as an affiliate there. Easy money if you ask me.

Make Money With Text Links

You can make thousands dollars a month just with text link ads! Text link ads -- when you place small text link on the bottom or side section of your website with someone else's link on it. Recommend amount of links is around 15! Do not go over that! Google bots will spot that you have too many links and they will consider your site to be "farmland with too many outgoing links".

Your outgoing links should NEVER be more than your INCOMING LINKS. They will punish your pagerank. (I will explain this later on) and your search engine results maybe affected by that as well. As long as you have less then 15-text links on your site, you will be fine. So if I want to place small text link on your website, depending on the factors, I could be paying you from 20 dollars to 500 dollars a month for just ONE link!!!!

Now do the math and imaging 15 people pay separately 500 dollars each a month for you to place their small link on the bottom of your website. Do the math yourself = Not bad? Factors when considering the price for the link include:

1) Alexa ranking (the lower then number the better it is, ranging down from 20,000,000 to 1). The more people visit your website, the lower your Alexa ranking will be.

2) Google Pagerank (ranging from 0 to 10) When you first register name for your website, you will have no rank at all. Pagerank gets updated every three months by Google. The higher the page rank, the more money you will make with TEXT LINKS.

If you have good alexa rank and your PAGE RANK is around 6, you can most likely sell links for your website for around 300 or MORE dollars each!!! Two ways of getting high page rank First way: pay for the links.

IMPORTANT! 1) IF YOU GOING TO BUY LINKS, MAKE SURE THEY RELATE TO YOUR SITE OR ELSE IT MAY NOT COUNT! 2) ANCHOR TEXT SHOULD BE DIFFERENT. DO NOT USE SAME ANCHOR TEXT FOR EVERY LINK YOU BUY FROM DIFFERENT WEBSITES.

Be creative and name it differently. Make sure the link name associates with your intended keywords as well. So if you have dating website and you need keywords "free dating site" , then I recommend use that phrase when you buy Text links from other sites.

Again, you need to change them up every time, do not have same text links! It is too easy for google bots to spot this and if they notice same anchor text you will be punished for buying those links!

You can avoid getting caught by simply using different anchor text! I recommend Text Link Ads you can buy links there. They are the best site on the internet. Before you buy your links there, you can't see what site your link will appear only after you buy it, however if you are good customer you may request to see the websites BEFORE you place your link there.

You may not like those specific websites. That is why it is good to see what it looks like. If you make a purchase you will be able to see it right away.If you don't like the website that your link will appear on you can cancel the ad and get your money back to buy link from different sites. Buying links is not allowed by Google, that is why this website does not show which websites sell those links.

They definitely know what they are doing. Customer service is amazing too! So if you want to have PAGERANK 5 for example, you can have it by purchasing ONE link on the website that has the page rank 7. Here is chart for reference.

So here you can see, if you want to have page rank 5, all you need to do is to purchase one link from website with page rank 7 OR you need to buy 4 links from website page with rank 6 OR you need to buy 19 links from website with page rank 5. You can do the rest of the math. It is easy to read the chart.

You are going to need to have that link for 3 months. After that you can cancel it. The reason for that is this: when you purchase link, as soon as Google bots crawl the site that you bought your link from, you will get credited for that link right away. So you might actually only need to keep the link for 1 or 2 months before cancelling and your link will still be effective even after you cancel it and it gets taken off the site that you bought from. I personally recommend that you have your link for 3 months.

Keep in mind that google updates its page rank four times a year.
Second way: Natural way of getting high page rank. The best way to have natural pagerank without spending a dime is to have BACKLINKS! For example if your website is dating blog and you go to other dating blogs, if their website has page rank of 4 or higher and you leave a comment on their blog, you just earned one FREE backlink.

Imaging if you keep leaving comments every day on that blog or different blogs, count how many backlinks you are going to have!!! Make sure not to spam or you will get banned from those sites. Also make sure their website does not have "NOFOLLOW" code in their website. You can check by going into (your browser): "View", "source", and click "find" and type in "nofollow". If it comes up --that means that your backlink will not count. Some owners of big sites with very high page rank include "nofollow" in their website code to prevent spammers. When google bot sees "nofollow" code it will instantly ignore all the backlinks. Do not waste your time with those once.

To get high page rank, so you can charge people more money to place text link on your website!1) Number of RSS subscribers (if you run a blog) -Go to Feedburner and if you have blog make sure people can subscribe to your blog! Home Business Misconceptions

In my home business coaching sessions, I have found that many people start their home businesses based on misconceptions, myths, and half truths.

They are being told that they can sign up for a few programs, build a site around those topics, slap the banners and links on their site, then sit back and collect the money - never having to work again.

Wrong.

The truth of the matter is that there are more people who fail at their home businesses, than people who actually succeed.

These people are not told that they will actually have to work twice as hard at their home businesses as they did at their traditional job. They are not told about
the hours and hours of marketing time that they will put in. They usually are not even told by the affiliate managers how to market the products or their websites.

They have uplines who are inactive or flat out ignore them. They don't have the first clue as to how to build a downline, much less how to offer support to their
downline. They don't understand conversion rates or the concept of PPC (pay per click) programs.

However, they truly believe what they have been told - They believe that they can get rich by doing absolutely nothing. These are otherwise intelligent people. Why
would they believe this? They believe because they want to believe. Because they see it everyday, everywhere on the Internet. They are told that it is possible. They not only want to believe it - for their own reasons, they need
to believe it.

Unfortunately, it is my job to tell them the truth and then they feel let down. By the time a client comes to me for help, they are already a bit disillusioned. Since
initial clients usually begin by paying for one session at a time, I go ahead and burst their bubble during the first session. I don't want them to spend money that they don't have on an idea that won't work.

After the first session, the client is left to make a decision. They either have to do what it takes to make their business a success, toss the idea out the window, or keep doing exactly what they have been doing with the exact same results (or lack of results as the case may be). Less than half are willing to do what it takes to succeed. The rest toss the idea out the window. I've never had a client who decided to keep doing what they had been doing.

I do have a point. My point is that if you are an affiliate manager, or if you have a downline, be honest. Tell your affiliates and downlines the truth. Tell them upfront what will be required of them. Be honest about possible earnings,and be honest about your own earnings. After being honest, "look around" to see who is still interested in your business. I promise, there will still be people interested -people willing to put forth the effort that is required. These are the people that you want to invest your time in.

Once you know who is serious about the business, work with them closely. Offer them all of the support you can possibly offer. Make suggestions to help them improve their site. Put together marketing packages and ideas for them. Start a forum for your downline, and be active in that forum. If you haven't heard from them in a while, send them an email or a card and ask them if everything is okay. The more successful your downline is, the more
successful you are.

A home business is by far the best way to support yourself if you just cannot stand working for others for less money than you need to survive. It’s also the best way to get out of a good paying job that just takes up too much of your precious short life working for someone else.

Let’s face it, you probably know someone who has a home business. Do they look happy to you? Do they complain as much about work and money as you do? Probably not.

This is not to say that you should quit your job and start a home business. You should start one while you still have your job. Some people complain that this is hard and takes up too much of their free time. In the beginning a home business is not profitable – you have to work at it like anything else.

Some people eventually go back to work blaming some program or home business opportunity that wasted their time and didn’t work. Unfortunately, the odds are actually that they didn’t work hard enough and stick to their dreams. Many people allow themselves to believe that there are no legitimate home businesses. It’s easier to go to work thinking this than to let themselves truly believe that a home business is possible, profitable, or liberating.

But if you truly believe there are no good home businesses, that they are all scams, then what are the thousands of people doing everyday in your hometown driving around during work hours?

You know the ones. The people you see on your day off that are driving around and standing in line in places you frequent on your days off. They can’t ALL be on their days off too! You have wondered, just like I did, what it is these people do. I know you have.

Many of them have their own home business. Many of the people you see at the post office who know the clerks by first name are shipping packages of goods they sold on auction at Ebay or their own websites.

The cars parked in the county clerk’s office in your home town. Some are employees there, but not all of them. Many of the people coming and going from that office in your town (during business hours when everyone should be working, right?) are real estate brokers, or no money down buyers and sellers looking up local property information.

Home business owners are all around you, everyday. The home business industry is quite literally booming and is getting larger exponentially by the month.

The worst thing you could ever do to yourself, that is a life-altering belief system, is let yourself believe it is all a scam or that there is no room for YOUR creativity and YOUR value as a home business owner of any kind!
